If working more at a job where you are constantly meeting new people in fun environments sounds better than working less at a “9-5” behind a desk, it may be time to ditch the desk job and sell beer. Brewery Representatives are responsible for spreading the word about Newport Storm. Each representative has a specific territory in which they operate and are essentially in charge of. In these areas they will have three main functions. They will have to visit retailers and convince them that Newport Storm is a beer they should be carrying. The representatives are also then responsible for promoting Newport Storm to consumers through various promotions and events. Finally, each territory has their own distributor(s) that the brewery representatives must work with to encourage their support of the brand and the execution of its distribution. When looking for our representatives, we require little (a car, a phone number, karaoke skills, etc.) but look for a lot. This is not a 9-5 job and we want people who are enthused about selling and promoting Newport Storm. Experience in the industry (either from a representative perspective or a retailer perspective) is a plus, but not necessary. If you went to college, that’s cool, if you didn’t, that can be cool too. Like our company, we need our representation to be creative and scrappy. We don’t have the fanciest promotional materials or the largest expense accounts, so we have to get it done in other ways.
